One Week in Czechia: Prague & Český Krumlov Highlights

The first stop on my Czech adventure was Prague. This city is filled with so many narrow streets & side alleys that you can get lost for hours just by walking around and exploring. When I first arrived I walked through the old town square which had several quaint cafes along the streets. After hours of shopping and working up an appetite I asked around for the best chimney cake in the area (no one gave me a straight answer because every single place is amazing).

I decided on Trdlo and Ice Cream with high expectations since this was about to be my first real Czech chimney cake. It was seriously unbelievable. I am pretty sure I left part of my heart in that cafe.

Later that night I walked around the Charles Bridge, a medieval stone arch bridge that crosses the Vltava river.

Since I have a new obsession with architecture, I was instantly lured into trying to find the castle (the official residence and workplace of the president). I did not get far because of the armed guards, but it was a beautiful sight from the river.

How can you end the night without a little nighttime stroll?

The next day I took a nice day trip to Český Krumlov for some shopping in the South Bohemian Region. I thought this would be the perfect break from the city! I toured the Marionette Museum and tasted local chimney cake (paired with ice cream) & wandered through the Krumlov Chateau.

Personally, my favorite part of Český Krumlov was the view from the Krumlov Chateau. The town seemed so small nestled in this tiny little valley on a river. It was so quaint yet beautiful!

Český Krumlov was definitely a highlight of my Czech adventure.

Thank you Czechia! Now eating chimney cake will never be the same.
