Two years ago today, I went to the world's biggest Volksfest (folk festival)... Oktoberfest. It was the most lively and culturally enriching experiences of my life, filled with the classic lederhosen, all the traditional German foods you can imagine, and of course, beer.

The night we arrived, the streets of Munich were filled with happy-go-lucky women in beautiful dirndls, and upon seeing that, I was taken over by an intense feeling of giddy excitement for the next couple days. My friends and I took the opportunity to enjoy the city of Munich before we delved into the activities of Oktoberfest, and it ended up being a very sleepless weekend, but I would not change a thing.

After many hours of bouncing around different beer tents making new friends, my group and I indulged ourselves in various carnival games and rides. We attempted to make our way through fun houses, though it was not a very graceful scene, and I was brave enough to ride an intimidating roller coaster that was tall enough to offer a view of the whole city. It was a crisp, gray, overcast day that constantly threatened rain and the beautiful green church steeples starkly contrasted the dark landscape.
